Sri has a blended academic-practitioner background and has over 20 years of auditing, consulting, and academic experience. Sri provides technical consultation on Sarbanes Oxley, professional standards, financial reporting and auditing matters, and anti-fraud programs and controls. As part of the firm’s thought leadership initiatives in corporate governance, he publishes in research and professional journals, represents the firm at professional organizations such as the AAA, AGA, IIA, ACFE, and NACD, helps design in-house professional development programs, and mentors younger professionals.

Prior to joining Grant Thornton, Sri was the Sarbanes-Oxley Advisor for Ernst & Young’s National Advisory Practices, and Assistant Director of Thought Leadership for the Fraud Investigation and Dispute Services (FIDS) practice. Earlier, as a principal in Arthur Andersen’s Professional Standards Group, Sri participated in the AICPA’s task force on SAS 92:Auditing Derivatives, Hedging Activities and Investments in Securities, helped develop proprietary fraud detection models, and was a key liaison for the multi-million dollar Andersen-MIT research collaboration. After finishing his Ph.D., Sri was on the Accountancy faculty of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign for a few years. He has published extensively in research and professional journals such as Management Science, European Management Journal, Research in Accounting Ethics, International Journal of Accounting, Advances in International Accounting, Journal of Information Systems, International Journal of Intelligent Systems in Accounting, Finance and Management, Internal Auditor, Journal of Government Financial Management, White Paper, Internal Auditing, etc. Sri has made professional presentations in the USA, Brazil, France, Spain, Turkey, India, and Japan.

Active in the profession, Sri is presently the Chairman of the Academy for Government Accountability. He is an Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) Research Foundation Board Trustee, a member of the Board of Directors of the Delta Institute, and the Information Integrity Coalition, the Accounting Advisory Boards of Vanderbilt University and SUNY at Albany and the Dean’s Business Council at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. In May 2006, he completed the NACD’s Director Certification program.
